Experience Relaxing Care With Our Aberdeen Dental Sedation

Not everyone is completely at ease about coming to a medical facility. It’s perfectly normal to feel anxious about getting dental care – many of our patients have experienced the same feelings. But like them, you can take advantage of our Aberdeen dental sedation to relax and get the care you need for a healthy, great-looking smile. Inhaled sedation (laughing gas) and IV sedation from Aberdeen Smiles can help you:

  • Rest easy in the chair without focusing on your procedure or checkup
  • Catch and treat small problems before they become more painful and costly
  • Reduce your anxiety or fear about future visits
  • Gain peace of mind without worrying about the unknown
  • Smile with more confidence, knowing that your teeth and gums are in great shape

Come find out how relaxing dentistry can be with sedation! Call us today at 605-277-9049 to schedule your appointment.

Put Your Mind at Ease With Two Kinds of Sedation

For as long as she has practiced dentistry, one of Dr. Drake’s highest priorities has been to deliver excellent dental care in the most relaxing way possible. For patients who experience a significant amount of dental anxiety, inhaled sedation has proven a fantastic way for them to overcome their fear and apprehension.

Inhaled sedation uses laughing gas, an odorless gas that is completely safe. You’ll take in the gas through a comfortable mask. In just a few moments it will take effect, creating a mild euphoria and giving you a warm, fuzzy feeling all over. Soon, your mind will be completely at ease, and you’ll have no concerns about your dental care.

The effects of the sedation will vanish almost immediately following your procedure, and you’ll feel like yourself in just a few minutes. You’ll have no problem driving yourself home or functioning normally throughout the rest of your day.

We also offer IV sedation for patients who are going to be completing extensive dental care, like oral surgery. With an oral surgeon and dentist anesthesiologist as part of our team, we can deliver complex care while you stay completely comfortable throughout the process. IV sedation allows you to remain conscious but largely unaware of your procedure. Because it is a heavier form of sedation, you will definitely need to line up a ride home.

Take Advantage of Our Comfort Amenities

Dental sedation isn’t all we offer our anxious patients. You can also enjoy several cozy comforts, including:

  • Massaging chairs for head-to-toe relaxation
  • Warm blankets to take away the chill
  • Soothing paraffin wax hand treatments

We take your comfort seriously at Aberdeen Smiles. We invite you to experience our Aberdeen dental sedation the next time you visit us. Call us today at 605-277-9049 to schedule your next stress-free appointment. You can also schedule an appointment for more convenience.

Common Questions About Dental Sedation

What is dental sedation?

Sedation dentistry is dental care that is administered while a patient is under the effects of sedation. At our practice, we offer two kinds of fast-acting sedation options. Inhaled sedation (aka laughing gas) is something you breathe during your appointment. IV sedation is for patients who are undergoing more complex treatments. Both will keep you calm and help block pain.

Which type of dental sedation is best?

This can vary from person to person, and it may depend on the reason for your dental visit. Patients with mild or moderate dental anxiety can get cleanings with inhaled sedation, but someone with severe anxiety may need a stronger form of sedation. Even if you don’t have dental anxiety, we may recommend sedation for oral surgery or other complex procedures

What does dental sedation do?

Dental sedation has some clear benefits. It can help you relax. When you are calm, it’s easier to receive the oral care you need, whether that’s a dental cleaning, a gum disease treatment, or teeth replacements. Sedation also blocks pain, which means you won’t feel anything when you are getting a wide range of services.
